• Ok…I’ve read a ton of docs….but now have found conflicting info…please help! (Please be gentle, I’m not a “Coder”)

    My use case is this:
I want to have a “support” site for my service. I want a Forum, blog, knowledgebase and a feature “voting” section.

I’ve found a couple themes I like that do some portion of what I want, but none that do all (yet).

    So I’m thinking to either:
    Option 1 – 2 Separate Installs w/common User tables
    Option 2 – 1 MultiSite install
Option 3 – 1 regular install with a “use multiple themes” plugin

SOOOO…..my question here is, is it possible to use MultiSite for this, WHILE ALSO making it possible for a user to be logged into 1 site, but then NOT have to “re-log in” to the 2nd site to access the forum etc….(passing the log in cookie, or session, or however that works)???

    Thoughts???

(There certainly may be other solutions I’m not seeing as well???)

    Thanks!!

    Possible? Yes.

Should you do it? I wouldn’t.

You can have a forum without having Multisite. You can have a knowledge base just by having a custom post type. I would not Multisite.
