• Hi everyone,

I uploaded all the files the way I was supposed to and also already entered my database access data.
When I want to go to wp-admin/install.php now, the following error occurs:

Warning: main(upgrade-functions.php) [function.main]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/www/web544/html/blog/wp-admin/install.php on line 9

Fatal error: main() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘upgrade-functions.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/share/php’) in /home/www/web544/html/blog/wp-admin/install.php on line 9

Do you have any suggestions what I did wrong or what I have to do to fix this probelm?

Thank you in advance for your help.

    Soykster

  • This has been going on for some time now. I have experienced it myself. Some folk suggest that there is an error in config.php. If you are using the old one try editing the new one (the actual file in the download) or vice versa. In my case I switched to the svn and it cleared.

wheres your blog supposed to be installed to Soykster? url please?

Just tried to install the latest version of WordPress and had similar problems – blank page when trying to run the install.php file. Pulled an old config file from abnother domain and changed the db name etc. Works fine now. There is a problem with the config.php file in the current WordPress download (v.2.2.1). Use an old config file.

@enquirer32. That seems spot on. A lot of people have experienced this and the config fix seems to work. Thanks.
