Author Name and Picture

I’m turning my WordPress into a magazine, and I’m wondering if there’s a plugin (or even just a code solution) for inserting potentially a little box with the author name and a picture? Or even just author name and picture? I’m tired of people not knowing who wrote which article.

I’m thinking it might work via custom fields? Select the author from a dropdown.
