We received 6 form submissions in a row within one minute.

The content of each email contained shortcode in the fields instead of actual names or email addresses…here is a sample…

    From: [your-name] <[your-email]>
    Subject: [your-subject]

    Message body: [your-message]

Has anyone ever experienced this before and what could be causing it? Apart from this anomaly, I did test the form and it is working.

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Darlene

That’d be a spammer/hacker looking for security holes… Turn on the captcha or just ignore them.

Yes, captcha was and is definitely on. Thank you for your help.

Just one more question. It turns out there were 14 form submissions that came in at once. Since we had captcha turned on, how did these get submitted?

    Thanks again for your assistance.

The captcha may be defeated… it needed some tweaking anyways to make it more cache friendly.

I was planning to offer the new Google captcha as an option. Guess I need to accelerate those plans…

If you could forward a few of the spam emails, that’d be helpful.
