site running slower

My site has gotten slower over the last few days. I have googled and read all the optimization guides and tried everything I can.

My page loads were at about 3 seconds. This is a small blog with only 20 posts as we are just getting going. The permalink structure has the id as the first part of the url to help db queries.

I am using the twenty ten theme, with a links widget on the sidebar.

I had a few plugins and I had removed a few trying to speed things up. The wordpress importer plugin shaved 1 second on page load times once removed but that is the only one that had effect.

I have optimized the db, installed WP super cache(which does not seem to help the home page), and added a flush command to the head section.

This is on shared hosting(newtek) and the main site is ColdFusion and loads quickly. I opened a support ticket and they did not see anything wrong.

I am hoping for advice on what else I can try. Thank you.
