• Hi
My first day with WP and it looks like a great piece of software. I’ve spent some time searching the forum but I am still a bit unclear as to whether it’s the right program for a site that I’m about to start, so would appreciate a bit of advice please.

I’m developing a site that ordinarily I’d just code using HTML, DIVS and CSS, however at the last minute my client has decided that he would like a page that he can update with information on a regular basis. The site will be a basic 2 column design, side navigation with a masthead. Simple! Now, do I design the whole site using WP for the sake of this 1 page, or can I go ahead and design the site and somehow incorporate 1 page using WP..or am I just on the wrong forum??

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

  • Put it this way. Without WP the clients needs present a whole headache in terms of implementation. Go with WP. Charge the client a 100% uplift for going interactive. 🙂

Root is right, WP is the way to go. Designing a theme for the client to use is simple enough, or taking one off the shelf even, and will suit his/her needs to a tee.

Remember to charge for *software development* 🙂
