I would like to adjust the width of all my pages. Everything i have tried to use in my child themes style.css has done nothing, can someone tell me what I need to add to my child theme. I am using the twentyeleven theme and all i have done with my child theme is add

#site-generator{display: none;}

to remove the created by wordpress footer.
