Hi Xavier,
I went to your site using Chrome, but I’m not seeing the issue:

Can you let us know what browser you’re noticing this in?
Thanks,
Matt
I am using Internet Explorer 11, last version updated.
+-*
This shows instead of excerpts buttons in Version 4.0.7.
Version 4.0.3 still works correctly.

In Chrome (Version 41.0.2272.101 (64-bit), Mac OS 10.9.5) the error appears also.
It seems that this issue has not been fixed neither in IE nor in Chrome. Maybe the solution is suggested in post by David Higgins (https://wordpress.org/support/topic/-showing-up-in-excerpts?replies=1).
Also, it looks like it still appears on the meta descriptions of pages.
Hi everyone,
We currently have a new version of our plugin that we’re testing. For anyone that would like the newest build, please send an email to help@addthis.com.
Thanks,
Matt
We appreciate your quick reply, Matt. For my part, I prefer waiting for the final release of this new version of the plugin.
When the new version is finally released for?
Version 4.03 does not fix the problem for me. Really looking for a fix for this. If I choose not to have any sharing buttons with excerpts, I just don’t get any excerpt text at all, just a featured image and no text at all. We really need a solution for this.
You are losing so many users taking so long to launch the new version of the plugin. When the new version will be released?

The 5.0.3 version of the plugin is now an official build and is available via the usual update within WordPress.
We believe 5.0.3 resolves the issue with the +*- characters. I’m marking this thread as resolved, but if we’re mistaken about the fix, please feel free to reopen it or reach out to us and let us know about the issue.
