    I’m using Google Calendar Events as well as WP Super Cache. My feed is set to display the upcoming 4 closest events. In Chrome – OSX (which I’m using to build the site) all displays fine, however when I view it in Firefox or Safari it shows older cached dates. I’ve tried clearing the cache from GCE settings as well as clearing the server cache with WPSC and also clearing my browser cache, but to no avail. The only thing that has helped so far is deactivating wp super cache and reactivating it. This solves the problem immediately but then the following day the previous day’s events are still displaying in Safari and Firefox even after clearing GCE, WPSC, and browser caches. Any thoughts?

    We’re not real familiar with WP Super Cache, but if you’re explicitly clearing the plugin’s cache that should do it.

    Does it still happen in Firefox & Safari when WPSC is disabled entirely?

    Do you have a public URL you can share to show off this behavior?

    Thanks.

    Hi Phil, here’s the live url:

    I played with the feed’s cache duration and changed it to refresh hourly and that seemed to resolve it to a certain extent. However, in general it seems to only refresh the feed around 10AM CST every day. This is confusing since I have it set to refresh hourly. Also it seems that once or twice a week, it will go sometimes up to 2 or 3 days without clearing the feed cache and then it will start working once again. Have you seen this behavior before?

    @kohladmin,

    You are also using WP Super Cache? Have you found any settings that help with this?

    Thanks for asking. There are some days when the calendar updates with no problem, and other days where it takes a few hours for the calendar to update. It is really hard to tell if the WP Cache settings we tweaked had any effect, including this one under the “Advanced” tab: “Accepted Filenames & Rejected URIs > Do not cache the following page types > checked ‘Feeds'”

    That looks like a good option to have checked. I wonder though if it is not helping since we cache the actual calendar data. What is your “Cache Duration” setting for GCE set to? Does modifying that seem to help/make things worse?

    Marking this thread resolved since there has not been any activity here. Please let me know if there are any other issues.

    Thanks!
