Link Multiple Galleries

I’m trying to replicate the functionality of your plugin in a similar way to this site. http://hymanltd.com/vehicles/4804-1925-ahrens-fox-ns4-firetruck/

From my understanding, there is one gallery shows full sized images and that’s 1 column.
The other gallery is thumbnail size and it’s 3 columns.

How are these linked?
