Plugin author should stop referring people to the documentation, which in the case of date field is incredibly inadequate. It doesn’t explain anything relating to what the original poster asked.
We need to have the form it self show the correct format. It’s stuck at mm/dd/yyyy. the documentation tells nothing on how to change it so the users of our websites will see and input in the dd/mm/yyyy format instead.
@pistachioplz – sorry I disagree with your comment. The plugin author should definitely continue to refer people to the plugin documentation which explains in detail how the plugin current operates on relation to this relatively new HTML5 element and its clear limitations on allowable date formats.
