iTheme security and .htaccess

Hello.

I have a problem with the plugin, when i save in the backend i get the following message “Unable to write to your .htaccess or nginx.conf file. If the problem persists contact support.”. I dont know why it put this message
or if the plugin is working correctly without direct access to the .htacess.
