What is the right way to Update JW Player Plugin to the latest version?

    I’m using JW Player 6 Plugin (Version 2.1.8) for WordPress (Version 4.0).
    I’m wondering how to Update the plugin to the latest version without any risk to broke any configuration or content related to the player on some pages. I really don’t know how to Update the plugin. Can’t see any Update button or such info under the Plugin Management page how to do it. Please, advise how to proceed. Many thanks!

    There should be a button in the admin for this.

    You can always download the zip, then manually upgrade the files over FTP.

    Thank you for your answer. It’s really weird, I don’t see any Update button for the plugin. Could you please check that and let me know where in the admin panel it could be? Also, if we accept that there is no such as button for Update, how can the plugin be Updated manually via FTP? Do I need to replace some files? Is it as regular installation? Do I need to deactivate the plugin or even needs to be uninstalled before? Please, advice. Many thanks!

    Under installed plugins, if any plugins are out of date, there should be an option to update them to the latest.

    Yeah, that is very weird that there is not button here.

    You will have to re-install the plugin, either by doing it over FTP, or in your WP admin.

    the_fuse – i have the jw player plugin as well and i need to upgrade it. can you tell me how you proceeded with your upgrade? i dont want to lose the admin console. thx
