I received an email from Yahoo (my host) that suggested I “Remove the plugins wp-cache, wp-db-backup, which have known security vulnerabilities.” As soon as I did, the entire site and admin page went blank. How do I get them back?

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

Thanks. I ended up having to call Yahoo (not least because I forgot my phpMyAdmin password) and they fixed it.

    You’re welcome!

For future, your phpMyAdmin password will be the same as your database password, which you can get from your wp-config.php file. 🙂
