Invoking SQL statement at registration

Hello,

I am working on a pet project in which I would like to invoke some custom database scripting when a user joins, to setup some baseline entries unique to that user. I’m learning as I go, so please bear with me if my approach seems incorrect.

I was thinking that there should be a way for me to insert this database statement immediately after user registration, but I’m having a hard time finding which function controls this action. Perhaps it’s in the core WordPress files, but I thought I would ask, since I like what I’ve seen in the UU plugin and wish to use it.
