Meta slider margin to Nav menu Gap

This is my last issue prior to the completion of my first website. I would greatly appreciate anyone helping me with a resolution. Thank you all so much.

I am having a difficult time getting the margin of the meta slider to go up closer to the nav menu. I tried margin-top:-20px and that worked in the browser developer but not in the actual style sheet. Any idea how to close that gap between to nav bar and meta slider. Thank you all so much.
