Ecwid broke my site!!

    I just started getting the following error message when I went to my site, even on the admin pages:
    Warning: require_once(/home/content/35/9361435/html/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/content/35/9361435/html/wp-content/plugins/ecwid-shopping-cart/ecwid-shopping-cart.php on line 344

    Fatal error: require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/35/9361435/html/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/local/php5_3/lib/php’) in/home/content/35/9361435/html/wp-content/plugins/ecwid-shopping-cart/ecwid-shopping-cart.php on line 344

    So using my ftp host I deleted the the Ecwid plugin folder, I hadn’t yet even started to use it so it seemed the easiest thing to do. Unfortunately now I cant access the Admin side of the site as I get
    “This webpage has a redirect loop”
    Doesn’t matter what browser I use, cleared cookies and cache and same thing happens.
    I’m happy to reinstall Ecwid if there’s a fix for the php problem.
    Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Got someone to have a look at it. Not sure what they did but it’s working again. Haven’t reinstalled Ecwid yet so we’ll see what happens then!

    Thanks for the report.

    I inspected the error messages you provided:

    > Warning: require_once(/home/content/35/9361435/html/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php) [function.require-once]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory

    > require_once() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/content/35/9361435/html/wp-admin/includes/plugin.php’

    They actually said that the file “wp-admin/includes/plugin.php” on your site is either absent or cannot be opened. This is in fact very strange because the “plugin.php” file is one of the core parts of WordPress and without that file, neither of your plugins will work. Do you have any other plugins on your site? Do they work now?

    Probably, the issue has something to do with the file permissions.

    Thanks for looking into it.
    Yeah everything else is working fine. I have a dummy site that is almost identical to this one so I’m going to install the Ecwid plugin there and see how it goes. I’ll let you know what happens.

    Please do let us know – we definitely want to understand what happened (in case we can change anything in the plugin to prevent such issues). Thanks.
