Password protected page not working

    I’m trying to set up a new page which is password protected. However, when I view on the live site and enter the correct password, the page just re-loads again with the password prompt.
    I’ve retested in several browsers. I’ve tried retesting with different passwords.
    I’ve also tried changing themes and deactivating all plugins but I’m still getting the problem.
    Any ideas?

    hey there

    just want to recap to be sure i’m understanding, i apologize for redundancy

    you have tried all at once:
    -deactivating *all* plugins
    -changing themes to twenty-fifteen (or twenty-twelve even)
    -resetting the password
    -clearing your browser cache
    -then accessing the site from a private viewing session (In Cognito in Chrome, Ctrl+Shift+N)
    -attempting to access the private content

    if you haven’t tried this exact process, please do, in that order, and let us know your results! good luck!

    I’m having the same issue for many (all?) password-protected pages. Entering correct password does’t work.
    I disabled all plugins, switched to twenty-eleven theme, made page public and set up another password, cleared browser cache and accessed from private browser window. Nothing works.

    I have WP 4.3.1 on Arvixe hosting.
