plug in installation failed
-
I have tried for 2 days to install JetPack and super cache plug ins.
It fails every time.
I need help now.
Please install these for me.
2 of my most visited pages all of a sudden lost their ability to give visitors what they want.
This has to be user friendly. It’s the opposite!

No one here has access to your site – these are self-help forums – what error messages do you see when you try to install those?
It says Jetpack is installed, but it my http://wwww.quality-baby-care-products.com/infant-weight-chart.html, page still
says I’m missing a plug in for the percentile weight calculator and it’s a blank for visitors.I get this error message
Install Jetpack
Something’s WrongWe couldn’t validate your site address. Type your address again or follow manual installation instructions below.
There isn’t anything wrong with my site address:

I’m unable to access any of the pages on your site currently. is any of it working for you? are you able to move around the wp dashboard?
and if the site is not responding, that would cause the “phone-home” aspects of jetpack to fail
I have no problem to move around the wp dashboard!
All the plugins are working according to WP but the calculators on my pages still blank = aren’t working.
I thought Jetpack would solve this problem.
What’s wrong?
runesonRegarding not able to access any of my pages on WP (which I can):
Jetpack said at that they were unable to validate my site.
That may be the missing link…
How can I validate my site?
runesonok so this address loads the page for me:
http://www.quality-baby-care-products.com/infant-weight-chart.html/
the calculator is attempting to load a plugin from this url: http://media.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf which is not found, but this url does load the calculator: http://www.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf
is this calculator displayed through a plugin? if yes the plugin author should update the url they are pulling the file from
if this is code you’ve put in on the page, then you should just have to change the url you are calling
Thanks for the great info!
I copied what is a new embed code:
<object width=”500″ height=”740″><param name=”movie” value=”http://media.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf”></param><embed src=”http://media.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf” type=”application/x-shockwave-flash” width=”500″ height=”740″></embed></object>
By infantchart.comAs you can see it says type=”application/x-shockwave-flash”
Does it mean it requires shockwave flash?
is that an Adobe feature?I deleted the old embed code that didn’t work but it showed an error message
saying missing a plug in.The new embed code doesn’t work and doesn’t give any comment why.
Who would the plugin author be for contact?
runesonthe new embed code you pasted doesn’t have the correct url, so please try this:
<object width="500" height="740"><param name="movie" value="http://www.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf"></param><embed src="http://www.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="740"></embed></object><a href="http://www.infantchart.com/index.php">By infantchart.com</a>to answer your other question, yes this is using flash and requires flash (i.e. not compatible with many phones)
the author would be whoever you got the embed code from
http://wwww.quality-baby-care-products.com/infant-weight-chart.html
I tried the embed code above and it shows as the code when updated.
I installed Adobe shockwave Player 12.1 and thought it would solve the problem, however this was the result:Installing Plugin from uploaded file: Shockwave_Installer_Slim.exe
Unpacking the package…The package could not be installed. PCLZIP_ERR_BAD_FORMAT (-10) : Unable to find End of Central Dir Record signature.
Where do I find End of Central Dir Record signature?
runesoni run linux and cannot help with installs of windows exe files, sorry
also, you again linked to not an incorrect url for your site (4 w’s)
viewing this page i can see that the embed code appears to have been entered in WYSIWYG mode for that page. Please change to text when in the editor and replaced the embed code that you put there with the code previously provided
i see you are very close but keep mixing the urls up!
are you actually copying and pasting the code i gave you?
right now i see it failing to load the calc, but using this embed code:
<object width="500" height="740"><param name="movie" value="http://media.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf"></param><embed src="http://media.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="740"></embed></object><br /> <a href="http://www.infantchart.com/index.php">By infantchart.com</a>when I’ve been asking you to please try this code:
<object width="500" height="740"><param name="movie" value="http://www.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf"></param><embed src="http://www.infantchart.com/infantweightage.swf" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" width="500" height="740"></embed></object><br /> <a href="http://www.infantchart.com/index.php">By infantchart.com</a>Hey, I actually have used both codes and none of them work.
But it could be since the adobe shockwave player install failed.
I’m currently talking to Adobe about this failure at the moment.
runesonif you change your code back to the www version of the embed i can test from a few different platforms here and let you know if it renders on any of them
using the mdei subdomain will not work as the server does not answer
