wordpress hosted site and wordpress.com site, which one?

    Hi,

    I am fairly new to wordpress.
    I had a wordpress.com site and decided to have a hosted one because i needed plugins and other features.

    I use jetpack plugin which links to my wordpress.com site but now i have google results for both sites.

    What is the best way to set this up?
    Do i need to delete the existing content on wordpress.com site and just leave the hosted site and keep the wordpress.com site running but with no content?
