@bill-hut – Interesting, ive never seen anybody try to use them in that way.

The problem is likely that the popup post type is not set to public. That is you can’t view the popup like a page via its own public url.

That said you could enable it but I have no idea how that would affect your site overall. Things that could happen include popups being indexed as pages in google, theme breakages since on the popups public page our theme and settings wouldn’t be used. the name of the popup would be the page title and the content would show up in your template like a normal page.

Your call. But that is the reason I believe you are getting a page not found error in the share window. The link its trying to share is not public.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Danieliser,

The Popup post is set to public.

To be honest, the sharing options came up automatically and I couldn’t see an option within jetpack to turn sharing off for Popups specifically.

If I want to remove the sharing buttons from the plugin, do you know how I would do that?

    Thanks

@bill-hut by public I mean configured in WP to get its own urls, meaning it will show up in sitemaps, categories etc.

I will have to do some research as this is the first I’ve seen this issue.

That said jetpack may be filtering the_content to add the links. If that is the case then when I release v1.1.9 later this weekend they will no longer show up as I have removed all usage of the_content filters for popups as it caused all kinds of different issues with other plugins that add content or filter content.

I just removed the sharing buttons from the popup by unchecking ” Front Page, Archive Pages, and Search Results” , that means there are no sharing buttons on the front page however.

If there is a better solution you find, that would be great.

    Thanks for your time.

@bill-hut The update later today should resolve the problem by removing the sharing buttons from the popups.
