i really like the illustratr theme but i want to use the masonry style layout for regular “post” entries on the homepage. from what i understand, that layout style is only for “portfolio” type entries. is there anyway to tell illustratr to render the homepage in the same way it would render “portfolio” type entries? FYI my archive of posts is over 2000 so i do not want to convert “posts” into “portfolio” entries. also, i still want to treat it as a blog, latest on top.

  • Converting the blog index to use Masonry would be a rather complex change, but if you’re up for a challenge and are comfortable with some PHP, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, you’re welcome to dig into the code and try it out in a child theme. 🙂 That sort of major structural change is something you’d need to explore on your own. To point you in the right direction, you could study how the portfolio-based homepage is generated and try adapting it for the blog post display.

Good luck and let us know how it goes!
