userpic-avatar call author

i have userpic-avatar, the modded version of dans avatar thingie that allows for userpics as well as avatars. I am wondering if anyone has an idea of how i could use it in the authors pages. i am not sure how to tell the page to pull up the appropriate author picture on the corresponding author profile page, rather than just pulling up the logged in viewers picture (or no picture if viewer is not logged in).
