Remove space between header and content

I am very new to wordpress, and have a small problem with setting the design for the page. 🙂

I am using make, free version.

There is a big gap between my header, with title and menu, and the page content.
As the page is quite empty, the problem can be best seen on the front page (home). I want the title “anders firing aardal” and the menu to hover just over the picture on the page. They are currently not on the same height either.

SO:
1) how would i remove the “negative space” between the header and the page content?
2) how would I allign the menu bar and the title?
