Hi Karla, I see you have moved on to another theme. Sorry for poor response here. Like many themes News Stream uses the featured image for each post in the slider and on archive pages. The slider will show latest posts by default but you can also choose which specific posts to display in the slider using the sticky posts feature of WordPress. Make one or more posts sticky and only those posts will be displayed in the slider with the latest displayed below in the usual way. That’s the best way to handle the slider imho.
