Hello everyone, I recently signed up with siteground and they installed WP for me. However, they didn’t install any widget capability (meaning I don’t have the widget option under presentation). I tried to install the widget plugin under automatic, which everyone suggestions, and now my site looks like this (www.auctionbabez.com). It seems like the widget placements is being layered on top of the other original widgets. Does anyone have any suggestions? I though there is a way to add widget files so you don’t have to add files to each individual theme????

If you are using WordPress 2.2, then it is not necessary to install the Sidebar Widget plugin as 2.2 has the widget ability ‘built-in’..

You may need to find themes that are widget compatible (see Widget Ready Themes) instead of trying to widgetize the themes yourself.

I think they must have installed me with an older version of WordPress, maybe 2.1. Is there a quick and easy way to upgrade to 2.2? The widget plugin thing isn’t working for me.

    Upgrading WordPress has instructions.
