Link opens new window of same article

    I’m trying to have text link to an amazon product page. This is the example of how I’m attempting this… [amazon asin=B00G53QM7Q&text=headphones]

    The problem is that when the word “headphones” is clicked on, it doesn’t go to the amazon page of that asin. It doesn’t go to amazon at all. Instead a new tab opens and it’s just a copy of the same article.

    Hi,

    Very odd, that shortcode works okay on my test site.

    Can you give me a run down of any options you might have changes?
    For example:
    What is your default country?
    Is localisation disabled or enabled and is the ip2nation DB installed?
    Is live data disabled or enabled & AWS keys validated?
    Is the product cache on or off?

    What version of WP?
    What version of the plugin are you using?

    It seems to only happen with text. This… [amazon template=iframe image&asin=B007V93QT0] works perfectly.

    With the link shortcode – firefox opens a copy of the article, while explorer opens a blank tab.

    I’m running WordPress 4.1. Here are my settings…

    United States is the default country
    Localize Amazon Link is enable and ip2nation is installed
    The AWS Keys Validated box is checked
    Enable Data Cache is also checked
    The plugin version is 3.2.4

    It’s working! Arranging the text link like this has taken care of it… [amazon text=heater&asin=B002G51BZU]
