Hard to say without seeing it.
Try adding this to a custom CSS option in your theme (if it doesn’t have one, use a custom CSS plugin):
#content {
margintop: 0px;
}

i’ve tried that but it doesn’t look like it’s working unless i need to clear my cache
Yes, you should always clear any caches.

i installed a custom css plug in like you suggested then added it to that
should i just remove the custom css plug in and add the code to style.css?
No, it should work fine – but I don’t see it on your site at all. Clear that caching plugin and deactivate it – you shouldn’t need to cache anything while you are working on your site.

i don’t know if you can see but it looks like the slider is in a white box so maybe that’s the reason?
i want it touching the bottom of the header
similar to http://www.names.co.uk
I’d actually suggest you post in the theme’s own forum here:
https://wordpress.org/support/theme/market#postform
As this seems to be getting into fairly theme-specific issues.
