They should be removed automatically when visiting the page. Could you try switching off HTTP Requests and try again? (Settings > Multiple content blocks)
Thanks Harold. I found that in the interim anyway, but appreciate the reply.
One thing, the boxes seemed to randomly disappear from the editing page, and also the screen options panel at the top. However, it would be on other pages when editing. Seemed to be no reason for it. Checking those two boxes on or off in the settings also seemed to have no effect.
Any ideas?

I have had some trouble on some server configurations where HTTP requests weren’t allowed or there was some type of caching (like Varnish), but switching off HTTP requests mostly stabilize this.
Otherwise, I really wouldn’t know what could cause this behavior.
OK, will keep an eye on it and see if we can lock anything down.
