• I’m very new to wordpress and I clearly screwed something up hard.

I foolishly tried to change the URL under the settings tab and my site went down. I was able to fix it though, using the support forums. I added the code into the WP_config.php file to “hardwire” my URL in and it came back.

However it’s not perfectly fixed. My Home page comes up, but if I try and click on any of my links in my navigation, I get a Server error. I tried to re-save my permalinks but I got a message saying my .htaccess file wasn’t writeable. I went in via FTP and changed it so that it SHOULD be writeable but I’m still getting the same error.

Further reading the support forums someone with what appeared to be a similar issue suggested trying to switch themes and see if that helped. Well I tried to switch themes and now it wont load at all.

  • Hey there theeverydayatelier,

    Hope you are well!

Just visited your site and didn’t have any problems visiting other pages than your homepage.
Please check the screenshot here. The pixelation is added by me – I see it just fine. 🙂

Do you still get errors when you visit it?
If so what kind of errors do you get e.g. 404, 403, 500?

If you got that fixed, can you please post what your solution was and mark the topic as resolved?
Your solution might be very valuable to future users facing the same problem.

    Thanks,
    Ivan
