Profile Email is wrong

    Newbie issue.

    I just registered with wordpress.org. When I registered, I was automatically given what I thought was my email address as a user name…but actually that email address is missing a letter.

    My email is shawnabarr@sbcglobal.net, and I as issued shawnabarr@sbcgloba.net.

    I didn’t notice.

    So I tried to change it in the Profile settings, but it is telling me that email address is registered already.

    I had forgotton that I have registerd with WordPress.org 4 years ago. Username for that account is ShawnaB, and my correct email address is apparently already registered to that account.

    Can anything be done to correct this?

    This sounds like it’s about wordpress.COM sites and accounts, not self-hosted wordpress sites, for which wordpress.org is the hub for forums, documentation, etc.

    Due to the differences between the free hosted blogs offered at wordpress.com and the self-hosted and self-installed version of WordPress supported here, you should probably ask WordPress.com Support instead.
