• I am wondering is there anyway to move my own posts from now on? I posted some things recently, which some did get double posted. But overall, I was told to get my posts to multisite section, which I do not know how to move. So 2 did get dual posted. But for others, when I asked questions, they all got closed stating I was double posting them all, when in reality I was asking lots of different questions. I was asking about 2 different plugins which one got closed claiming it was dual posted because of my post about the other plugin.

So I am looking for ways to avoid this because overall I got no help because of a moderator being rude to me because another moderator asks me to post my posts elsewhere (in multisite) because it’s apparently a whole different set of issues.

Are there any solutions to this? I’m sure if I wait a month and repost my issues I’ll have the same issue of someone claiming I am reposting, which then I would be, but with my posts closed automatically that were good, and the old buried ones that were not detailed were left open, your group didn’t give me much of a chance for support here with my current issues, which seems to be WordPress’s bugs and issues that are not resolved, or at least, not looked on lightly without being closed so no one can comment.

    Any solutions

There isn’t a way you can move your own posts, if you feel that your thread is in the wrong section then create a thread in the Requests and Feedback forum to let us know.

well a few were, but once i open them in the correct section, someone come and closed all my good posts saying all them were dual posted, when actually only 2 were, so they deleted the ones in Multisite (where I was told to put my questions) and left my other questions open, after they left rude comments on all my threads

Is that just how wordpress support works?

Can you link to the threads in question?

Very recently you opened a new thread elaborating what you’re discussing in this current thread, is that the general approach you do? Because we class them as duplicates, and will close them.

    Thread Starter bundleplan

    (@bundleplan)

well they weren’t duplicates. I posted at first. Someone told me to put into Multisite. You just told me before “if you feel that your thread is in the wrong section then create a thread in the Requests and Feedback” and again my post is closed….this time without all the rude responses on ALLLLL my posts, which is fine by me.

But before I even asked about 2 different plugins, how is that duplicated?

The main issue is I have a ‘support’ person writing on all my posts how i’m overposting everything when all he has to do was write me and tell me he closed them, instead he writes on all my open posts too that I’m overposting and making it hard for everyone?

And if he’s going to close nearly all my posts, why couldn’t he leave up the good/informed questions in the right places I was told to put them, instead of being rude on all my posts (closed or not) and then leaving open the threads in the wrong places…..I mean if he would of at least left one post up in the place it was suppose to be, I’d be convinced. But he closed all informed threads and left open the uninformed questions, also while leaving comments on every post…..which I consider dual posting when he post the same thing over and over as a reply on my posts…

But me asking about 2 completely different plugins, how is that multiple posts?

You just told me before “if you feel that your thread is in the wrong section then create a thread in the Requests and Feedback” and again my post is closed.

Yes, but you already created this thread to discuss it. I meant in future if you feel there is a thread in the wrong section then you can create a thread in the Requests and Feedback forum.

yeah that’s cool. The only reason I ‘dual’ posted before was because I was told over and over my stuff was in the wrong section and I needed to move to Multisite.

But I am getting no help after a month because of this support guy.

I’ve worked on PC’s for 20 years, so I’m fairly apt to technology, and what dual posting means, etc.

So is there any way I can get help with some people here that actually will help with some of the errors I am having? The guy I gave you his name has told me twice, something I’ve witnessed in WordPress is the way it has always been…..

But I’ve been installing this program for 2 years and am running into new things, like my network sites not showing up, or /blog/ folder showing for my custom post types.

I’ve installed for 2 years without either of these issues until 2015….and now he claims that it’s always been that way and because of that attitude, I am getting no support when I know for two years I have used WP the same way and NOT had these issues until new release….

So is he just trying to avoid big problems I am pointing out, or is he just being unhelpful towards me?

Either way I need to get some sort of help instead of someone dual posting on my posts claiming I am dual posting, when I am just doing what ur other support team is suggesting to me, which was move my stuff to Multisite

And I still don’t see how asking a question about Hyper-DB and Multi-DB are dual posted questions. They have a similar name but are 2 different plugins and have different features the other does not.

I think he probably had a bad Christmas or something…..

Either way, I need support, I have been waiting and only gotten rude responses from this team member so far, and while others like yourself are trying to be helpful….you can’t because he’s pushed back the real issues and won’t let me repost them without closing them claiming I keep asking same questions. All my new posts had new info and questions, you just need a new support guy or need to talk to him about this because he didnt help me, he didnt even make it possible for you to help me

She. I’m a she. And I don’t celebrate Christmas. Two for two there.

No, YOU cannot move your own posts in this forum, only mods can do that.

I posted some things recently, which some did get double posted. But overall, I was told to get my posts to multisite section, which I do not know how to move.

Use the tag ‘modlook’ 🙂 We monitor that for exactly that sort of thing and are happy to help.

Your posts aren’t closed automatically until 12 months have passed.

But for others, when I asked questions, they all got closed stating I was double posting them all, when in reality I was asking lots of different questions. I was asking about 2 different plugins which one got closed claiming it was dual posted because of my post about the other plugin.

    Actually you weren’t.

You wanted to know how to split up a database and you were told what plugins to try. Then, instead of asking a new question in those new posts, you repeated everything you’d already posted and asked the same thing….

    That’s double posting.

The only one of your posts that isn’t a double post that I closed was this: https://wordpress.org/support/topic/cannot-figure-how-to-install?replies=3&view=all

And that’s because you’d asked the same thing already, and by tagging the post with the plugin’s tag, we had already alerted the devs to your question, AND you already had the attention of the people most likely to help you sort things out, so a second post was going to make things harder.

If you have new information, things you’ve tried, experiments on clean installs, etc, reply to your own, existing posts, with that. Otherwise… you may need to consider hiring someone if the free volunteer support can’t answer all your questions fast enough. I can tell you there are not many people who bother to split the DB for Multisite, mostly because it doesn’t need it until the site is large.

    Thread Starter bundleplan

    (@bundleplan)

lol that link is exactly the one i’m talking about! The other was about multi-db, that one hyper-db

as far as waiting for support, I’m fine with that, but once i find out my stuff is all Multisite questions and most my multisite threads were closed, you made it almost impossible for me to get support in the correct place, from what I was told by others about my postings

Please consider taking a deep breath.

as far as waiting for support, I’m fine with that,

That’s good and I’m glad to read that. That’s important when you consider that these are volunteer staffed forums. 😉

but once i find out my stuff is all Multisite questions and most my multisite threads were closed,

For reasons that have been explained already.

you made it almost impossible for me to get support in the correct place, from what I was told by others about my postings

That’s not the case. Everyone here is a volunteer including yourself. You can get assistance with your topics but no one here is obligated to help you. No one has made it difficult for you to get support but you do need to follow the forum welcome.

    http://codex.wordpress.org/Forum_Welcome

There’s a lot of good information in that welcome.

Instead of creating new duplicate topics can you please point to which of your topics you want assistance with? Once you do I will close this topic down. This really has gone past being productive.

This one is in the right place, just seems to be misunderstood over and over.

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/networks-not-showing-up-in-new-wordpress-clean-install?replies=7

Another thing I am just noticing that can’t seem to be understood.

    https://wordpress.org/support/topic/looking-for-help-with-a-number-of-issues-and-using-multisite?replies=2

This is where I tried to compile all my problems, which was closed.
#1 was solved, #5 was solved, the rest unsolved, while I do have an open thread for #3.

I see now #6 is a theme related issue….from what was told to me by the response before it was closed …however I think think this may be a multisite issue because it keeps deleting one avatar when another is uploaded.

Example: mainsite1 avatar uploads fine. avatar uploaded to /folder1 erases avatar from mainsite1 with an error in link.

I understand WP has gravatar not avatar, but somehow this has gone unnoticed by my developer and I just think some may need to see it, if nothing else….and of course I’d like responses because it could be an easy fix.

    Thanks

Thank you for posting those links and I’m now going to close this topic down. It’s not productive to have multiple conversations like that.
