    Hi there

I have used this plugin on a few of my sites – successfully. On a site I am currently building, the shortcode only works when placed alone on a page or in a widget area. As soon as I try to put the shortcode on a page that has other text on it, it just doesnt work.

    For example:

I have text that is sitting on three fifths of my page and I want to have the plugin in div container that sits on the other two fifths of my page. It just will not work…

    Any help would be great!

    Thanks in advance!

    Hey ABosCT,

    A few questions for you:

    1) What are you using to split your page layout into 3 fifths and 2 fifths? Is it a plugin or part of your theme? Do any shortcodes work in the layout or is it only ours you’re having the problem with?

    2) Is it possible to send me a link to view the page on your site where the issue is occurring so that I can see the problem first hand?

It’s part of my theme. Using [three_fifth][/three_fifth] etc. The site isn’t live at the moment so unfortunately I can’t send a link… If there is a way to send a private message I can send temp login details if that will help?

Do you know whether your theme support nested shortcodes – ie. shortcodes inside of shortcodes? If not, that may be the issue. Do other shortcodes work or is it only the shortcode from our plugin which isn’t showing up?

Mmm that is probably the problem. I can use nested shortcodes but they are all from the theme. My theme has built in shortcodes for contact forms etc that always work. Maybe they just don’t support plugin shortcodes? Its not a critical problem, I can always display the facebook feed in a footer widget or something…

It’s possible but I would think if it supports nested theme shortcodes then it would support all shortcodes. Have you tried it with a shortcode from another plugin and experienced the same problem? If it’s an issue with our plugin then I definitely want to get it resolved, but it sounds like it might be theme related.
