duplicate and edit current gallery functionality

    Hi All,

    I modified the default gallery functionality with:
    add_shortcode('gallery', 'my_gallery_shortcode');
    in my theme functions.php file.

    Now I would like the option to choose between the default gallery and my modified gallery, within the media user interface.

    So another option as ‘create gallery #2’ . Does anybody know if this is possible and how?
