I have been using Postie for a while now with no problems. I am using it with a Gmail account. I recently changed the password to the Gmail account and now Postie is not working. I made sure I changed the password in Postie. I am also using Cron. Any thoughts on what is causing the problem.

When I do a manual check this is when I get:

    No reason it shouldn’t work.

Sometimes Google forces you to reauthenticate if you log in from vastly different IP addresses. Is it possible to browse to gmail.com from your server and check that you can log in from there?

I’ve gone through my error logs I realized that the plug-in stopped working on December 31 around 10:30 PM. I don’t know if this is a coincidence or not. But I tried your suggestion of connecting to the Gmail from my server, and that didn’t work. Any other suggestions?

I had been getting an error that said “fatal error could not connect to host could not allocate memory”. I have resolved the issue with my host hoping that that was what was causing the issue with the plug-in, but it’s still not working. My host says that the server can connect Gmail, so what are some other possibilities that could cause this problem?

I assume you’ve double checked the user name and password. Sometimes autofill messes with this stuff.

Another user is having a similar issue. Who is hosting your WordPress site?

Well, we are getting closer to a solution. Fixing the error message: cannot connect to host; cannot allocate memory fix my connection problems along with your suggestion to check the password.

Now it works, but only works manually. I do have Cron set up. I was using it prior to it not working. When I look in my error logs I get the following message:

PHP Fatal error: Call to undefined function http_response_code() in /home/hbco/pos/wp-content/plugins/postie/get_mail.php on line 2

Looks like you have an older version of PHP.
