Hello. I love this plug-in because it always selects very relevant posts to link with and the option to select related posts really helps me a lot.
I regularly have site crashes though and I have been warned that it is a result of cache issues caused by your plug-in.
Has your last update addressed this? Is there anyway to avoid it?
I really want to work with you guys.
    Best regards,

  • Hey,

thanks for reaching out! (Un)fortunately I can’t replicate the issue on my side so any additional information would help a lot. What is your WP version, a list of other plugins installed and also a link to your blog would be more than appreciated. Finally, if you don’t me asking, who warned you that this is a result of our caching issues and can we get some data on this, so that we can analyze it?

    Looking forward to your reply,
    Petra

I have the same problem. the plugin cause overload on the site. The environment is a dedicate server and still crash the plugin or website. The web site its over 3.000 posts and running WP 4.1

I am willing to help with any information because really like plugin.

    Example:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 262144 bytes) in /home/xxxxx/public_html/wp-content/plugins/related-posts-by-zemanta/recommendations.php on line 52

Hmmm…weird. I will try to replicate the issue on my side. In the meantime would you be so kind and give me a link to your blog? Also, a list of your other plugins would be really appreciated.

Looking forward to your reply and sorry for the inconvenience,
    Petra

My blog is http://www.wired868.com. Like Dario, I’m a fan of the plug-in and really want to continue with it. I notice you just had an update, which I took and I do want to start using it again once I feel my site won’t be adversely affected.
    Best regards,

Oh, my list of plug-ins are:
Add From Server, AdRotate Professional, Ad Squares Widget, Anti-Spam by Clean Talk, Captcha, Comment Email Reply, Content Aware Sidebars, Custom Post Templates, Disable Comments, FB Comments Importer PRO, Google Analytics by Yoast, Jetpack by WordPress.com, JM Twitter Cards, League Manager, Responsive Video, Shareaholic, Theme File Duplicator, Twitter Widget Pro, User Photo, W3 Total Cache, WordPress Importer, WP-Stats-Dashboard, WP Backitup, WP Facebook Open Graph protocol, WP Smush.it, WP Statistics, Zaki Like Dislike Comments

    Hey,

thanks for all the additional information, truly appreciate it! Do the site crashes still happen though? Also, when you disable the plugin, everything works as it should? Sorry to ask you this again but I just can’t catch a break and replicate the issue on my side. We had some problems with W3 Total Cache in the past but it seems everything is working just fine now. I suggest increasing the amount of memory that can be consumed by PHP, you can both read more about it here: http://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP

Let me know how it goes, take care and have a lovely day,
    Petra

I solved the problem by increasing the script execution time in PHP configuration (Contact the hosting If you are unsure how to configure). I think the problem was the amount of memory and runtime VPS was set up like a shared server.
