• At first – thank You for the good plugin and a good new year!

Although I’m little bit confused about blocked browser versions in options. What’s the point of blocking Opera 18 or lower, Firefox 26 or lower and Chrome 31 or lower? All these three are modern browsers and not very old versions, but plugin has not option to block only old Opera, Firefox and Chrome versions.

In my opinion is basic point to block/notify browsers with lacked web standard support (perhaps acid3 test passing). Opera 18, Firefox 26 and Chrome 31 got 100/100 in acid3 test and almost all web pages are working fine with these browser versions. There is no point to block/notify modern browsers with no web standard support problems.

Suggestion – please add to options old versions with lacked web starndards support.

First Firefox version with 100/100 score in acid3 test was 4.0, so blocking version 3 or older makes sense.

First Opera version with 100/100 score in acid3 test was 9.5, so blocking version 9 or older makes sense.

First Chrome version with 100/100 score in acid3 test was 4.0, so blocking version 3 or older makes sense.

    Thank You!

    Hey,

    Thanks!

I understand your concerns and you have a valid point, but I don’t feel that the acid3 test is up to date regarding web standards, and the group maintaining it stopped doing so in 2013. (http://www.webstandards.org/)

I believe the HTML5test is more applicable on todays web and the browsers most people use. (https://html5test.com/)

Even if eg Chrome 24 will work fine on most websites today, I’m a strong believer of pushing users to updated there browser to the latest version, or browsers that better support the latest standards and are more secure. It is for that reason I created the plugin.
