Adding Home Widget Box To My Post

Hello,

I am trying to figure out how to get three Home Widget Boxes onto my page.

I am currently using Twentyeleven child theme. I am a beginner at PHP and CSS and would really appreciate some step by step instructions.

These are the Boxes that I am looking to get, which is from the Responsive theme or something similair:

I have registered three widget areas there but I have no idea how to style or make boxes etc. I have tried plugins but have failed as they had to be styled.
