When loading images from my media library into a page, why is the image loading as a link? I have uploaded an image to my library as normal. I went into my “home” page and clicked on “Add Media” and chose the image I wanted to use. Resized, aligned, all that, updated. And then when you view the webpage, it shows as a link, not as an image embedded into the text. I have tried swapping images, same thing. I’ve changed the “linking” options, no dice. I’ve created a new page that was not the “home” page to see if maybe it was a home page setting. I just redid my entire site with this theme, I’m thinking maybe it has something to do with that, because of the way it has also affected the galleries, but not sure. Meep! Help!

  • It’s loading as a broken link in that the thumbnail is not being rendered. The full size image is there. By default WordPress links thumbnail images to the full sized image.

Could be several reasons for this however the standard trouble shooting method is to disable all plugins and switch to a default theme and see if it fixes it. Then we can work on what exactly is causing the problem.

Yeah, I figured that would be what I might have to do. :-/

Ended up linking my image through flickr. Kind of a hack-work-around, but hey, it worked!
