Commenter Name Errors

    I posted this recently with no replies:

    >>A Commenter reported to me recently that sometimes when she visits my blog the Comment name & url fields are already filled in (with other of my Commentors information). I got her to send me some screen snaps and the browser cookie file and sure enough, the cookie is identifying her as someone else. I checked back through my comment logs, and this has happened with other users (who evidently didn’t notice it). She can clear the cookie, but it eventually reverts to someone else’s details.

    Anyone have any idea what’s going on here?<<

    I have now encountered this behaviour over two different versions of WP (2.0.9 and 2.1.1) and with several different users. I have also completely changed my WP template so it’s not a template problem.

    Has anyone else seen this??

    I’m having the same problem! I can’t seem to find any reason for the ‘error’ and it’s making a mess for comment moderation.

    In my case, the only field that’s being carried over (in error) is the commenter’s name – the URL and/or email address is correct on the new comment.

    I’d appreciate ANY help you can offer!
