To begin with, I am not sure which version of WordPress I’m using. I cannot remember if it is 4.0 or 4.0.1.

My problem is that I was updating a plug-in, WP Optimizer by Yoast or a similar one by him when I got the following message.

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare class Google_Exception in /homepages/31/d365994624/htdocs/wordpress for dons-digital-photo-corner/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/admin/api-libs/google/Google_Client.php on line 425

I can access the website itself, but not the Dashboard. When I try to do that I gat the same message.

I do not know html and to make matters worse, I do not have a recent backup that I have manually triggered. Perhaps there is an automatic one, but I cannot access it, since I cannot access my Dashboard.

    My website is http://dons-digital-photo-corner.com/

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Rename the folder “google-analytics-for-wordpress” to google-analytics-for-wordpress_off in wp-content/plugins using FTP or the file manager in your Hosting account.

Radices, thank you for the quick reply.

The problem is, I cannot find the subject folder wp-content/plug-ins either using ftp access to my account or through what my host calls webfiles.

My host for the WordPress package is 1And1.

Radices, thank you for your help. I was able to find and subsequently rename the folder you identified with the help of 1And1.
