I’ve seen a handful of threads on this, they seem to get marked as resolved without any answer.

I’m setting up a dual language site for events. It’s important for this that events show on the map in both the main language and the secondary language.

However, events only show on the map when the site is set to the language in which the original event was posted.

So if an event is posted in Irish by a user and the WPML EM compatibility plugin is turned on, the event will only show up on the Irish language version of the map and vice versa.

The map shows all events if the compatability plugin is turned off, but this causes it’s own problems; Events appearing twice in search (once in each language) and the search page defaulting to just one language.

I’d really appreciate any kind of work around someone could suggest.

    hi,

am I correct that what is happening is that events displays on other language is not showing on the map while it’s working on the original event both languages? if yes, can I know if you are using a shortcode ?

    Hi Angelo,

Yes, if an event is posted in Irish it shows up om the Irish map, if it is posted in English it shows up on the English map.

    The shortcode is:

    [locations_map country=”IE” width=300 height=400 scope=”future”]

Although scope is only a recent addition and the problem has always been there for any use of [location_map] while EM WPML connector is turned on.

    Any ideas on this?

I’m currently looking at other map plugins to use instead of EM’s built in one, but getting the location info to pass over to their custom fields seems fairly complicated for me.

any input you might have would be greatly appreciated.
