I’m hoping someone can help me here. I installed 1.2 yesterday and I can’t activate plugins. When I click activate it just sits there. I’ve even gone into a different browser to try there and all I get is a “Cannot find server” page as a result.
The exact same thing happens when I try to edit category names. That I can live with, but I some point I’m going to want plugins!
I’ve gone so far as to wipe everything and reinstall, but it does no good.
    Thanks for any assistance.

zuKeeper, I installed the 05/28/04 nightly build on my .com server and tested the “Dolly” plugin; things worked fine. I then changed the config file to your database information and unploaded the same package to your server. The install went fine, but the plugins will simply not activate.
I’ve found a thread here regarding a “referrers through a firewall problem” so I killed Zone Alarm on the Win2k box and tried to activate the plugins from there with IE (I gave your server an ‘always allow’ option; I initially got a ‘page not found error’ and then a ‘you need to have referrers enabled’ message. That was repeatable: the ‘page not found’ and then the ‘referrer’ message. I locked IE down again and reactivated ZoneAlarm and tested out the WP install on my .com; things worked fine there.
What I’m left with is the impression that this is a server related problem in that I can activate the plugins at my place from Firebird under Linux and IE6 underWin2k and cannot activate them at your place from either system.
The question for the gang: what is server specific enough in this module to cause her place to error out? Thank you!

My apologies, I thought I was logged in when I posted the above and my profile link didn’t post. You can contact me here or as danbowmanatattdotnet (with the usual subtractions/ substitutions).
    Thanks again.
