• I am using the Types and Views plugin with the Tidy theme, and I receive a JavaScript error any time I attempt to use the plugin’s interface to insert a shortcode.

    The JavaScript error is:
Uncaught TypeError: Cannot read property 'split' of undefined

This error references the file /wp-content/themes/tidy/admin/js/options-custom.js?ver=4.0.1

The error prevents a lightbox popup from opening on the plugin settings screen. More info on how that impacted the plugin can be seen here: https://wp-types.com/forums/topic/cant-insert-shortcode-into-wp-archive-or-custom-template/

I think it is an error in the Tidy theme files because when I switched to the TwentyFourteen theme, and was able to use the plugin correctly with no JavaScript errors.

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks for reporting the error. Please allow us some time to investigate the cause of this issue. Meanwhile, if it is not too much, can we ask you to provide a screenshot of the JavaScript error to help us have a better chance finding this problem? Thank you.

The javascript error only showed up when I used the Inspect Element function in Chrome after clicking on the button to show the lightbox popup in the Views plugin.
I have since switched to another theme and removed Tidy from my site, so I won’t be able to send a screenshot. The text quoted in the JavaScript error in the original post is exactly what I saw in the Inspect Element > Show Drawer > Console tab.

Hello again. We looked through, but since we do not have the “Views” plugin in our hand, we are unable to perform proper troubleshooting at our side. Though, we will keep your feedback in mind when we make future improvement to this theme.
