Caches(?), Revisions, and Auto-save: All broken.
-
Here’s my problem: WordPress revisions do not show up on my pages or posts, and the autosave function seems to be broken. This makes for very scary editing. Other than that, the site appears to be working normally.
I’ve tried disabling WP-plugins, deleting plugins, switching themes, and more. I’ve even tried plugins that say they will control the revisions…they show up but the only revision that will ever be listed something like “2 December, 2014 @ 20:26 [Current Revision]”.
I also have “Post revisions” set to show in “screen options” but they still don’t show up inside the Publish box (with or without any plugins active and regardless of theme). I assume that there is something in some code telling wordpress to not store anything but the current versions of things, does anyone have any idea what that could be??
I’m totally stumped on this. I’ve looked at many versions of wp-config files and added and deleted the revisions line that it calls out to try to change it (it’s not set on false or 0).
I used cpanel to install the database and originally used the integrated QuickInstall to add wordpress, which was bundled with WP-Super Cache. I think I went through the steps to disable and delete all files associated with Super Cache since I thought it might be the source of the issue, but I thought it was worth mentioning.
Also, I later went through the process of deleting the cPanel installed WP and reinstalling the newest version manually through ftp, and it didn’t help.
Any thoughts, ideas, or advice would be much appreciated.
