Form Submission Count

Is it possible to display a count of contact form submissions on the front end (via page or text widget) using a shortcode? For instance, if there has been 100 contact form submissions on my website, can I display a count that says something like 100 Form Entries; and this value can automatically update as form data is submitted to the mysql table?
