Hello everybody,
First off, my apologizes because I don’t really know how to entitle this topic. Now, trying to get to the point.
I’m using the last version of WP on a local server with the last version of Wamp. I recently had to move my site from a PC to another. Mostly without a problem. For the first time since I moved, I had to upload some files.
One was a picture that I pasted into ‘C:/wamp/www/mysite/wp-content/uploads/img/’ (I mostly never upload anything through WP’s admin panel). While trying to display it on a post, it returned a 404, both in post and in direct URL, like the image didn’t exist. Old pictures, files that were uploaded and used prior to my PC swap, still worked.
In an attempt to solve the problem, I had to upload a plugin so I pasted into the obvious directory). WP didn’t detect it at first, and I had to upload it as a Zip through the admin panel.
Does anyone know how to solve this? I’d like to use Win7’s explorer to easily upload files on my server, just like I did before. I’ve tried several things like re-installing WP, changing from my Tempera theme to the default WP ones, de-activating every plugin, nothing helps. There’s that thing I couldn’t try, editing permissions, because I don’t know how to do it on local and the Wiki doesn’t really help.
Being on a local installation, I can’t show you my site either.
