Hi
I am assuming that you are using the latest version of WordFence and wordpress right?
tim
I seem to have the same problem but with a difference. I use Wordfence on 2 different websites and when I tested the email, it goes through on one and not on the other. I checked for any possible blacklisting of my website email address as per the recommendation back at the Wordfence official website and my email addresses are clean. I tested for both the website email and a gmail account.
Writing to the host provider does not make any sense in such a situation. What else can I do to get the alerts started again? I’ve had quite a few hacking attempts recently on the concerned website. There are no emails in queue back at the Cpanel.
Please help!
I had the same thing happen to me in January, and it turned out Gmail was just dropping the emails without error. And it wasn’t just Wordfence, it was password reset, the contact form, etc. I had to switch to OAuth 2.0 to get emails to send.

Can you provide me a screenshot of your WordPress Alert settings like this one: http://screencast.com/t/IFvUNlBFeB ?
When did the email alerts on that site stop? I think you mentioned the test email function did not work for you on that site?
If that is the case, the server is no longer sending emails, which is something the hosting provider has to do, like restart the mail service.

Hi @tim.
From what I can make out, the alerts on the site must have stopped for about 3 days.
After writing to the forum for a few more ideas to resolve the issue and checking around my Cpanel, I contacted the hosting provider to rule out a hosting issue. They were kind enough to look into my problem on a priority basis and restarted the mail service, just as you have said in your message. It took a few hours of back and forth but we managed it.
As of right now, I am receiving alerts of unauthorized persons trying to login to my website using user name Admin.
Just so that anyone reading this entry can benefit, Wordfence had not stopped working and the website was fully protected, it was only the alerts.

Vatsala
