    Hello,

I was working on my website and everything was OK until I did my first access to the server with my FTP Client (Transmit) for the very first time.
Now WP do not upload new media files nor update plugins anymore.
I checked multiple times my FTP password, even changed it. I can still have access via FTP Client and I can modify text and titles trough WP dashboard.

Checked permissions of WP Content and Uploads folders: 755
    Quit FTP Client.

Still have problems uploading images and updating plugins with WP dashboard.

Please help me, I am not a coder. I really need to work on my website for job purposes.

    Kind regards
    Matteo

what version of wordpress are you using?
what plugins have you got on the site (active and deactivated)?
    what theme are you using?

    4.0.1
Impreza Theme (wich is bullet prof)
    deactivated plugins

yes, but which plugins? they can still cause problems when they’re deactivated

    Plugins:
    – add featured images to rss
    – Akismet
    – Chapters
    – Comment Redirect by Yoast
    – Contact Form 7
    – Enhanced Media Library
    – Google Analytics by Yoast
    – Microkid’s Related posts
    – Really Simple Captcha
    – Revolution Slider
    – Seo Redirection
    – Simple Taxonomies
    – Table of contents Plus
    – WordPress Seo
    – WPBakery Visual Composer
    – WP Super Chache

I renamed the Plugins folder into Plugins.HOLD and the problem still persist. I am pretty sure it’s not a plugins’ problem.

    – Microkid’s Related posts hasn’t been updated in over 2 years
    – Simple Taxonomies hasn’t been updated in nearly 2 years

so i’d get rid of them if i were you, even if they’re inactive they can still be a problem. try deleting them and restoring the default wordpress theme, then clear your browser cache and refresh the page to see if that makes a difference…

good luck. can you post back with how you solved it just in case anyone else googles the same issue and finds this thread?

    my FTP Client says:

Sarver said: pic.png”: Disk quota exceeded
Error -160: cold not start data transfer

hmm… looks like you’ve run out of storage space then… have you got lots of images or plenty of big images? any videos?

    Thread Starter matteobianchi00

    (@matteobianchi00)

    Nope.

Video and audio are on youtube and soundcloud. Website super minimal. http://www.matteobianchi.net

all i can really suggest is talking to your webhost, you may have no more space allocated to your site and may need to upgrade your account with them for more room or there could be an issue on their end that’s filling up their servers and making it look like you’ve used your quota.

Added space to my FTP account. Now working.
Many thanks for your help Jack
