Editing functions missing on Pages, weird on posts

    I have customized templates from Elegant Themes running on several sites, and I have only seen a problem pop up on one since yesterday’s update. But it’s a big problem.

    When I am in Edit Page, the editing box does not appear at all. Elegant Themes has a page builder as part of the template, and nothing below the switch to go to Default editor appears. Worse, nothing happens if I click on the switch to use the default editor. In addition, the editing box for pages is completely messed up: the text is appearing in white–I can see it if I highlight it, but the box looks empty if I don’t. Do you have any advice?

    I have tried all of these strategies:

    Disabled plugins
    Uninstalled and reinstalled themes
    Reinstalled the latest version of WordPress
    Deleted and reinstalled wp-admin and wp-includes

    I have also exported the site and imported it on another web host, using the same theme. The problem doesn’t happen there.

    Last thing I’ve tried: activating the Twenty Fourteen theme. The pages and posts both have the weird thing where the edit box has white text.

    My web server is running PHP 5.3.28. That was all the help I could get out of customer service at my web host.

    The site you exported to, was it also running 4.0.1 did it have the same configuration of plugins?

    I had shut off all the plugins on the original site. The new site has only SeedProd’s Coming Soon Mode running (to keep the site hidden) and WordPress Importer (which I used to import the posts). Both sites are running the latest version of WordPress (4.0.1). The server on the site where things are working is running PHP 5.3.27.

    Im getting the exact same thing, on almost all my wordpress sites with different themes 🙁 major fail, basically can’t do anything.

    I’m hoping that someone might be able to figure this out. I’ve been editing posts directly on the server, but I can’t keep doing that. Help!
